Focus Orthopedics is Hiring a Front Desk Receptionist Near Clermont, FL

POSITION TITLE: Front Desk Medical Office Position

PURPOSE: Performing functions such as answering office calls to schedule appointments, take messages for office staff, check in patients, check out patients, request referrals from PCP’s. collect co-pays etc.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Office Manager

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Greeting patients as they enter the office and check them into system and create a superbill for each patient.

2. Verify correct insurance information is in demos per insurance cards.

3. Scanning patients insurance cards, id and any testing info upon check in.

4. Collect co-pay upon check in and run thru credit card terminal, attach slip to super bill.

5. Checking out patients to make follow up appts and collect any deductible balances due.

6. Answering phone calls to make appointments, screening per diagnosis, taking demographics, ask for insurance

Info to ensure we are participating, asking if any past medical history of surgeries, and ask PCP and/or new patients to have PCP fax over clinic notes for review

7. Performs related work as required and many other tasks to maintain consistent patient system data and receivables cash flow.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Minimum of 5 years medical front office experience.

2. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with physicians, employees and patients.

3. Ability to identify problems and initiating action efficiently in order to resolve the problem.

4. Ability to set goals and prioritize accounts and tasks in need of follow up.

5. Strong organizational skills.

6. Ability to work independently.

7. Ability to deal courteously with patients in relationship to any balance due issues.

8. Knowledge of insurance agency and operating procedures and practices.

9. Awareness of Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) training, security point of contact and accountability.

10. Ability to multitask.

11. Ability to have a flexible schedule.

12. Ability to travel to Clermont and Villages office locations.

13. Ability to be assertive in pursuing job duties in a professional manner.
