Family Vision of Anderson, PA is Hiring an Optician Near Clemson, SC

A busy Optometric office is looking for an experienced Optician to join our team in Clemson.

  • located on College Ave.
  • M-F hours of 8:30-5:30 and a one-hour lunch break.
  • Once every 2-3 months a Saturday morning work shift will be scheduled in our Anderson location from 8:30am-1:00pm.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to sell and service eyeglasses with a commitment to provide excellent customer service.

Optician responsibilities:

  • assisting and educating patients with the selection of eyeglass frames
  • educating patients on lenses and lens enhancements
  • placing orders to maintain inventory
  • dispensing orders
  • lab finishing and repairs
  • adjustments of eyeglass frames

Qualified candidates will have some experience working in an optical store with excellent computer skills and the ability to read glasses on a manual lensometer.

  • meet with representatives of our frame vendors to select new styles to be available on the frame board when selecting the new look for your patient.
  • Passion for fashion is a plus to "wow" your patient with their new look.
  • Secondary responsibilities shared with a receptionist will be in pulling vision insurance authorizations and filing the vision insurance claims for the eye exam and spectacle orders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.50 - $19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
