Title of this Position: School Psychologist

Reports To: Dean of Students

The School Psychologist is responsible for providing student services, parent follow up, and teacher assistance to the Providence Creek Academy Charter School community.

· Knowledge- A working understanding of Professional Standards Board for maintaining School Psychologist credentials and how to best advise students with a familiarity of our students and the best interventions to help them be productive students.

· Dedication- A sincere commitment to getting to know each student and family under your counsel while providing top tier services, communication, and enthusiasm to the vision and mission of Providence Creek Academy’s stakeholders.

· Community- Be fully engaged and involved in the educational and extracurricular side of supporting our student body, their families, and our community beyond the walls of Providence Creek Academy

Major Responsibilities Include:

Under the supervision of the Dean of Students, the School Psychologist will:

· Administer and interpret psychological evaluations.

· Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results for students and participate in IEP conferences, teams meetings, and problem-solving meetings.

· Conduct classroom observations.

· Coordinate and review assessment information from providers to determine service options to meet the needs of students.

· Proficient skills in the preparation of comprehensive psych-educational evaluation reports and evaluation summary report

· Proficient knowledge in the classification requirements for all potential classifications in the State of Delaware

· Complete written evaluation reports, progress notes and letters.

· Review students’ cumulative records.

· Maintain student records and protect their confidentiality.

· Review referrals for testing, determine additional information needed

· Proficient skills with Functional Behavior Analysis, Behavior Support Plan development, Manifestation Review Determinations, and Collaborative Problem-solving.

· Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments

· Assist in creation of Behavior Support Plan

· Consultant to, and/or designer of, programs to meet the needs of students with diverse educational and emotional characteristics.

· Consult with school personnel and family members.

· Assist in providing crisis intervention services including suicide and threat assessments.

· Assist in providing students with individual and/or group therapy .

· Participate in IEP, manifestation, behavior plan, evaluation result, and school-wide data meetings.

· Assist in designing and presenting professional development sessions.

· Evaluate and/or translate research into practice and understand research design and statistics in sufficient depth to plan and conduct investigations and program evaluations for the improvement of services.

· Participate in MTSS process.

· Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the daily functions of the school psychologist.

· Proficiency in automated student information systems for monitoring progress and performance reporting and documentation.

· Demonstrated ability to motivate students and build relationships with parents to promote student achievement.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Strategic mindset, including demonstrated ability to problem-solve effectively and efficiently.

· Understanding of educational equity and multicultural issues.

· Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to convey complex information and mediate multiple perspectives while adhering to federal and state requirements.

· Positively represent the department to third parties and project an appropriate image for the organization.

· Establish and implement annual project plans and develop project reports.

· Effective working in a team-oriented environment.

· Technological literacy (especially pertaining to Microsoft Office and eSchool)

Qualifications:

· Hold or be eligible for a valid Delaware School Psychologist Standard Certificate in accordance with 14 Del. C. § 1583.

· Must have completed a supervised internship.

· Experience as a school psychologist preferred.

· Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Compensation:

This position will require approximately 37.5 hours per week per week for 11 months.

Compensation: Based on experience and education following PCA's pay scale.
