CSM Group is Hiring a Project Controls Specialist Near Clay, NY

PROJECT CONTROLS SPECIALIST
Location: Clay, NY
Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000
SUMMARY:

The Project controls Specialist (PCS) will be providing project controls support for CSM Group.
The PCS will work alongside the project team to assist in the development and management of the project controls plan to efficiently manage the work to meet client, business, and project objectives. It is the expectation that the PCS actively communicate with the project team and invests a significant amount of time to understand the project process and how they can support the Project Lead.
 
FLSA STATEMENT: This is a full-time FLSA exempt position. It requires at least 40 hours per week with the ability to work more if necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Support the cost and schedule management program for assigned project(s). Facilitate the development of cost estimates and budgets and establish reasonable cost and schedule baselines and develop the Work Breakdown Structures if needed.
  • Change Management: Support the change management process and appropriately capture associated cost and schedule activities.
  • Forecasting: Support any requests to provide ad hoc forecasts for projects or programs and maintain for future use.
  • Develop dashboards to communicate cost and schedule performance to project teams in real time. Implement a standardized suite of cost and schedule reports that enable clients to make data driven decisions.
  • Using the dashboards and data analytics techniques identify potential risk areas, validate cost/schedule forecasts, and communicate those quickly to the project team.
  • Support the project team and scheduler to mitigate potential delays and identify schedule risks well in advance of slippages.
  • Work with the Construction Manager to support any labor cost/hours and manpower requirements against budget constraints.
  • As needed validate payment applications, Change Orders, and any T&M work tickets.
  • Create control budget and review and authenticate cost reports and change notices.
  • Implement and ensure cost control processes to report on estimates, expenditures, and cost commitments accurately.
  • Support the project team with expediting the commercial closeout of the projects.
  • Performs other duties as mandated by Program Manager/Project Director.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in a Project Controls role.
  • Bachelor’s in Quantity Surveying, Project or Construction Management, or a relevant construction / engineering degree.
  • Ability to proficiently interpret and understand P&IDs, Drawings, Specifications, and other relevant construction documents.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and project stakeholders.
  • Experience in estimating, cost management and scheduling.
  • Strong focus on health, safety and quality.
  • OSHA 10-hour training program is preferred.
  • Technically proficient in using IT systems including, but not limited to Procore, BlueBeam, SharePoint, MS Project and P6, MS Office tools, and other dashboard reporting tools.
