EMSL is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician II (Chemistry) in Cinnaminson, NJ. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform a variety of sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure chemical and physical properties in a variety of matrices: air, dust, food, soil, solid, and/or water
Operate and maintain basic analytical equipment and instruments
Able to perform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, volumetric measurements and the utilization of analytical balances
Perform basic calculations and conversions, and compile the data obtained
Be comfortable in a laboratory setting involving the handling of common laboratory reagents, such as acids, bases, and organic solvents. Perform all chemical handling safely following laboratory procedures
Understand and adhere to standard operating procedures and quality control procedures established for each analytical method
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science is required
Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting, be able to multi-task and prioritize assignments
Must be able to work independently and with a team
Must be concise, organized, and meticulous regarding work assignments
Knowledge of basic computer skills such Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel is required
Available Shifts:
Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
