JOB PURPOSE The Director of Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive quality assurance program while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. This strategic role requires a deep understanding of quality management systems, quality assurance methodologies, process control systems and the ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will collaborate with and lead all quality-related disciplines, including auditing and compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain rigorous quality standards and identify opportunities for process optimization.
RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement the business plan and strategies for the quality function; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals. Exemplify the leadership behaviors of live the values, proactive strategic thinking, and effective communication.
Represent the organization or institution in a variety of industry, institutional, and/or professional forums, boards, and committees, in order to promote the company or institution brand or efforts.
Provide specialist quality management insights to identify and evaluate current policies and business processes that are in the scope of the Quality Management System; develop and evaluate future-state QMS propositions; identify the costs and business benefits of change
Participate in the development of corporate strategy for the organization, applying functional expertise to test the viability of the strategy and contributing creative ideas and insights to support the strategy formation process.
Lead the development and implementation of strategy for the entire quality function, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, and ensuring integration with wider functional strategy.
Lead the organization in the development of quality procedures and standards by certifying technological processes, qualifying products and supervising tests.
Develop tactical plans for optimizing resources and assets being managed within a significant area or department.
Provide authoritative specialist advice to senior managers at the business unit or regional level to enable the implementation of policy, projects, and change initiatives.
Ensure that business activities within the area of responsibility comply with relevant external regulatory and/or voluntary codes and with internal policies and procedures to minimize business risk and to protect the reputation of the organization.
Take responsibility for delivering parts of the organization's Corporate Social
Responsibility service with guidance from senior colleagues.
Contribute to the definition of organization structure by recommending reporting lines and roles and responsibilities, and identifying interfaces with other teams, to align with the structure of the broader function and corporate organization principles.
Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
EDUCATION Master's Degree or Equivalent Level EXPERIENCE Wide and deep experience providing expert competence (Over 10 years to 15 years ) Experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives as specified by more senior managers (Over 3 years to 6 years)
