What we are looking for :

We are looking for a Receiving Clerks to perform manual and clerical work in the receiving and storing of materials in a warehouse environment.

The Receiving Clerk must be an individual who communicates effectively and demonstrates a high degree of concern for the work, the workplace, and fellow employees.

What you will be responsible for in this role :

• Receiving, processing and checking of merchandise to verify the correctness of the shipment against all documentation.
• Prepare documentation such as work orders, bills of lading and shipment orders to route materials.
• Verification and data entry of all incoming material shipments.
• Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifest, invoices or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
• Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting and recordkeeping purposes.
• Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipment and delivery of raw materials.
• Communicate with establishment representatives to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications and file freight claims.
• Compute amounts, such as space available, storage, shipping and demurrage charges using a calculator or price list.
• Maintain Raw Materials Receiving Calendar.
• Monitor receiving materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
• Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
• Additional responsibilities as requested by Supervisor / Manager.

What are the basic qualifications?

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
• Accurate typing skills and / or data entry skills.

What are the preferred qualifications?

• AS400 experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented and able to perform well in a fast paced environment.
• Must be self-motivated and able to demonstrate sound judgment when confronted with unexpected or unfamiliar work and / or people situations.
• Strong computer literacy.
