NORTH SUFFOLK COMMUNITY SERVICES INC is Hiring a Registered Nurse Near Chelsea, MA

North Suffolk is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Community Wrap-Around Services Team! The Registered Nurse reports to the Program Director and participates in the assessment, treatment planning and service delivery processes for persons served by the Community Treatment (CTT) Team. The R.N. is responsible for providing monitoring of the medical and psychiatric status of persons and provides consultation in these areas in addition to direct interventions and care coordination. The R.N. also provides oversight of the MAP process and may augment the MAP protocol by administering medicine that MAP certified staff cannot administer. The Registered Nurse is a resource to the team and guides interventions that are health and medically related.

What you’ll do:
  • Engage people and partner with them to improve their health and wellness, achieve symptom stabilization and self-management, develop and/or restore skills impacted by mental illness and live a self-directed life.
  • Assist people with autism spectrum disorder, psychiatric and substance use disorders to identify personal priorities, preferences, strengths, and interests in order to help them establish goals that support a life in recovery.
  • In collaboration with other members of the CTT Team, participate in comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history (e.g., onset, course and effect of illness, past treatment and responses, and risk behaviors), mental status, and diagnosis; physical health and dental health; use of drugs or alcohol; education and employment; social development and functioning; activities of daily living (e.g., self-care, living situation, nutrition, money management); and family structure and relationships.
  • Collaborate with program management and staff to develop and provide training for staff and Enrollees on health and wellness, and healthy behaviors.
  • Complete, sign and date the Clinical Formulation-Interpretive Summary and Prioritized Assessed Needs sections of the Assessment to authorize rehab option billing when providing LPHA functions. (If Rehab billing is implemented in the program).
  • Provide active efforts to engage people who have traditionally been difficult to engage in services including outreach to shelters and transitional residential programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

What you’ll need:
  • Education/Certification:
    • Must have licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Massachusetts.
  • Experience:
    • Must have at least one year of experience working with individuals with mental illness.
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
  • Other requirements:
    • Must have Driver’s license. Must be MAP certified and CPR/1st aide certified within the first five (5) months of hire.
