Volunteer Behavioral Health is now seeking for a full-time LPN in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area.
This position will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
What You’ll Do
· Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services.
· Takes and records patients’ vital signs.
· Applies compresses, ice bags, and hot water bottles.
· Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the medical personnel in charge.
· Administers specific medication as prescribed by a medical provider and notes time and amount on patients’ charts.
· Assembles and uses such equipment as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, and oxygen supplies.
· Collects samples, such as urine, blood, sputum, from patients and performs routine laboratory tests on samples.
· Sterilizes equipment and supplies.
· Examines food trays for prescribed diets and assists with feeding if necessary.
· Records food and fluid intake and output if indicated.
· Assist in bathing, dressing, and assisting clients in walking if needed.
· Assist in cleaning rooms and meal preparation if needed.
· Provides patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.
· Inventory and requisition supplies if needed
· Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
· Completion of a state-approved certified nursing program and the successful passing of a competency program which meets state regulations.
· Must possess an unrestricted certification as an LPN.
· Experience working with medically fragile and psychiatric clients preferred.
