Robinson, Farmer, Cox, Associates is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Charlottesville, VA

Robinson, Farmer, Cox (RFC) is looking to hire Staff Accountants for our Staunton, Richmond, and Charlottesville, VA offices. We are offering a generous salary ranging from $58,000-$65,000 dependent on experience!

RFC was founded in 1953, as a Firm of Certified Public Accountants. RFC provides tax preparation and consultation, financial statement audits and consulting services throughout Virginia across six offices. RFC serves governments, individuals, businesses, and non-profit entities recognizing that each client is unique and important.

Staff Accountant Job Duties include:

  • Participates in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports;
  • Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses;
  • Performs various tests of assets, liabilities, revenues, expenditures and others accounts;
  • Prepares Spreadsheets relevant to audit assignment;
  • Develops “management letter” comments;
  • Prepares audit adjusting entries;
  • Communicates with clients concerning audit matters after consultation with supervisor;
  • Prepares federal and state tax returns for review; and
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by a supervisor.
  • Travel throughout Commonwealth of Virginia area with variable schedules

Requisite Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have a degree in accounting or related field
  • Ability to analyze data quickly from a variety of sources;
  • Ability to organize and schedule tasks to completion;
  • Ability to verbally communicate ideas in both small and large group settings;
  • Ability to gain and maintain confidence of clients;
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of PC based software including WP, spreadsheet, and database.
