The person in this position assists in the analysis, design, development, modification, testing, and implementation of highly complex computer programs and systems in multiple environments (ex. MaaS/Mainframe, Unix, Linux, Cloud platforms).

Duties/responsibilities include:

  • Assisting lead programmers with data transfers between other state agencies and/or third parties.
  • Working with applications database administrators or other programming staff to troubleshoot/fix problems.
  • Evaluating/recommending new system software or tools.
  • Working with higher level technical staff and agency users to test system enhancements or new implementations.
  • Preparing/modifying system documentation and user training materials as requested by management.
  • Attend meetings, training, conferences, seminars, and/or webinars as requested by management.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field including but not limited to business data programming, business systems analysis, computer accounting, computer and information systems, computer servicing technologies, information systems management, data processing, or computer engineering.
OR
An Associate's degree from an accredited college, university or business school in computer science or related field including but not limited to business data programming, business systems analysis, computer accounting, computer and information systems, computer servicing technologies, information systems management, data processing, or computer engineering and eighteen months of full-time or equivalent part-time paid computer programming experience in one or more programming or data base languages.

Substitution: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid computer programming experience in one or more programming or database languages may substitute for the required training.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in:

SQL (ex. DB2, Oracle, MS SQL, mySQL), a scripting language (ex. Javascript, Google Apps script, PHP) and FTP/SFTP protocol.

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

Cognos, Tableau, Natural, SAS, Cobol, CICS, AFP, JCL, Visual Studio, Android Studio, C#, Java, CSS, HTML, XML

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,457.00 - $74,845.00 per year
