Duties of MOS 25B
There is a lengthy list of possible duties for soldiers in this job. They will install, operate, and perform maintenance on equipment and devices and transfer data between information processing systems as well as troubleshoot computerized equipment for hardware and software malfunctions. Similar to civilian IT personnel, these soldiers handle basic computer issues having to deal with many non-computer literate fellow members of the Army. They have to also perform all manner of installing and editing of computer programs and provide technical documentation and maintenance for programs. The IT professional within the military must perform the system administrator duties such as compiling report data and quality control and may be called upon to help military civilians and soldiers in the installation, operation, and maintenance of information processing equipment. Probably the most important duty of the IT professional is to provide system administration to Tactical Battle Command Servers (TBC Server) in the tactical operations center (TOC). Additionally, debugging, analyzing, testing, and modifying software, as well as programs and manuals are also likely to be part of the MOS 25B job.
