Job Details

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to assist with an initiative to build out Smartsheet tools and dashboards for Project Reporting. The primary role is to develop storytelling insights through dashboarding that is focused on serving our greater Portfolio and Program Strategy teams to enable them to move the business forward utilizing quick data insights. The Business Intelligence Developer is also expected to assist in gathering business requirements, deep dive into new and existing data sets, and create smart sheet solutions that will provide the organization with key information quickly at their fingertips. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating Smartsheet Control Center Solutions and experience using BI tools (such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc.), and have a foundational understanding of working with large structured & unstructured datasets.
Responsibilities:
  • The primary role is to develop storytelling insights through dashboarding that is focused on serving our greater Portfolio and Program Strategy organization to enable them to move the business forward utilizing quick data insights.
  • The Business Intelligence Engineer is also expected to assist in gathering business requirements, deep dive into new and existing data sets, and design and deliver impactful dashboards that are focused on providing actionable insights for the Program and Portfolio Strategy Organization.
  • Continuously drive toward efficiency by simplifying and automating where possible, eliminating redundancy across the organization, refining data structures, and building data views as needed to support higher team productivity.
  • Assured quality and accuracy of deliverables through thorough interaction with business partners and data engineers to understand and refine requirements and adherence to privacy, governance, and quantitative standards.
  • Build trust and partnerships across internal and external teams with an understanding of change management.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of experience with Smartsheet functional areas like control center, workspaces, power apps, sheets, reports, dashboards, etc.
  • 2-4 years of experience designing and building dashboards using data visualization tools.
  • Deep understanding of Smartsheet core and advanced applications with an ability to put real solutions in place that maximize the end-user experience.
  • Ability to design blueprints through the Control Center in an optimal and effective way that minimizes manual touchpoints in the system.
  • Extensive understanding of metric creation through Smartsheet through the utilization of Dashboards and advanced formula creation.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create user guides and training materials.
  • Experience eliciting and documenting requirements, and business processes mapping.
  • Relevant office productivity tools, such as Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Google Office Productivity tools, Slack.
  • Relevant workflow and drawing tools, such as Viso, Miro, and SmartSheet.
  • Knowledge of basic database structure and data modeling languages and notation (SQL, UML, etc).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners and staff at all levels.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 1-4 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience using Microsoft products and Power Apps.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Power BI.

  • BA or equiv.

  • Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team-building efforts.
  • Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
  • Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
  • Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
