Millis Transfer is Hiring a Shop Supervisor Near Cartersville, GA
Position Overview:
Reports to and under the general direction of the Director of Maintenance the Shop Supervisor plans, organizes, coordinates , and supervises the operation of multiple shop mechanics that are responsible for the maintenance and repair of all equipment used in the operation of the company.
Essential Functions:
- Assess and coordinate a variety of daily projects for the purpose of meeting timely deadlines for returning equipment to service or preparing new equipment for fleet use.
- Maintain a variety of electronic reports and files to document equipment, repairs and mechanics activities.
- Supervise assigned staff, addressing employee concerns/problems, discipline, performance, appraisals, etc.
- Responsible for all facility and ground maintenance.
- Additional duties assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Required: 4 years diesel truck and trailer experience with a minimum of 1-year experience supervising a minimum of 2 employees.
- Preferred: a combination of experience, training, and education in the repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles (Tractor and Trailer).
- Experience in the management of multiple mechanics and a shop environment.
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to coordinate, organize, prioritize, and delegate jobs to employees.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
