Southern Illinois University School of Law is Hiring a Director of Admissions Near Carbondale, IL

Description

The School of Law seeks to fill the position of Director of Admissions. This position will serve as the primary recruiter and manager of the entire admissions lifecycle. Will be the point of contact through the entire admissions lifecycle. 

Examples of Duties
  1. Serve as primary recruiter for SIU School of Law. 
  2. Travel for recruitment events as needed. 
  3. Administer the admissions lifecycle for all incoming 1L students. 
  4. Supervise the Administrative Aide for Scholarships. 
  5. Develop and implement all office correspondence and communications timelines through the various admissions stages (prospect, applicant, admit, deposit paid). 
  6. Work with the Media specialist to develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the School of Law. 
  7. Review/revise and develop admissions-related content for the School of Law website, electronic communications, and print materials. 
  8. Insure that incoming students are registered correctly for the fall semester. 
  9. Work with the Assistant Dean/Dean to revise admissions policies and guidelines, make adjustments to administrative procedures, gather data, and write reports. 
  10. Report to the Assistant Dean/Dean and keep him/her appraised of the admissions process. 
  11. In the absence of an Asst. Dean, work with the Dean and the Admissions Committee to develop and administer policies and procedures to award scholarships and review applications. 
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree 
  2. Two or more years of experience in higher education or admissions 
  3. Understanding of statistics, admissions requirements and procedures, school funding, and financial aid application processes. 
  4. Ability to analyze and interpret information. 
  5. Strong interpersonal, presentation, networking, and verbal and written communication skills. 
  6. Proficiency with computers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctorate.
  2. Experience in law school admissions.
  3. Sales and marketing skills.

Southern Illinois University Carbondale is a Carnegie Doctoral Research University offering 200 undergraduate degrees, minors and specializations, 79 master’s degrees, and 40 doctoral degrees. Our main campus is 1,136 acres, with additional acreage in University Farms, Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center, and other facilities. The university is an essential part of the city of Carbondale and an important contributor to the culture of the entire region. While Carbondale includes many of the amenities of urban life, it retains its small-town flavor.
