Southeast Behavioral Hospital is excited to begin offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Southeast Missouri.

Our 102-provides a wide range of mental, emotional and behavioral health services for children, teens, adults and seniors experiencing mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and co-occurring substance use issues.

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Mental Health Security Technician functions as an active part of the safety team, through staff, patient and visitor protection.

May be required to function as an active part of the Environment of Care EOC team, provide patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging from adolescents through geriatrics.

The MHST will report to the Director of Plant Operations and is responsible for monitoring building entrances and facility grounds, respond to codes and assist with other patient needs, and fulfill the needs of the front desk to include greeting guests / visitors, directing calls and performing security checks.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education : High School Degree or equivalent required;

Experience : Two (2) years of related security experience required, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness and hospital setting, highly preferred.

Licensure : Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.

Additional Requirements : Successful completion of Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation, Service Excellence Training and CPR certification required.

MHST's must successfully complete 75 hours of classroom / computer-based instruction and 100 hours of supervised clinical practicum.

MHST's may be required to work weekends, overtime and have flexible hours.
