In Grand Rapids, MI we are searching for a Molding Technician for one of our manufacturing clients.

This is for a direct hire role, 2nd shift available (2pm-10pm).

Starting pay listed for $24.00-$29.00 with a $2.00 per hour shift premium for working 2nd shift with growth opportunities available.

Duties of a Molding Technician:

• Consults with other Maintenance, Engineering and Manufacturing employees to identify and resolve ALL molding maintenance issues in a timely manner
• Convert service requests to work order and complete repairs documenting work performed
• Identifies and troubleshoot processes, material or equipment problems to minimize down time
• Provides process/product support to organization to address production concerns
• Performs preventative maintenance on machines, aux equipment, molds, assists in equipment repairs, equipment improvements, upgrades, and equipment installations
• Responsible for maintaining mold conditions. (cleanliness, connector conditions, cycle counters, water leaks, etc.)
• Performs tooling set-up/changeovers in a timely manner according to schedule
• Performs line clearance and proper clean up during changeovers
• Ensures that maintenance coverage for production areas is provided for at all times
• Maintain Inventory records for equipment, and supplies
• Maintains 5S environment in work area and Tool Shop
• Follows lock out tag out procedures and all other safety rules
• Proactively participates in Kaizen events and creating a continuous improvement culture
• Maintains and displays strong attendance habits by being present and on time
• Overtime and weekend work frequently required

• Minimum of a High School Diploma
• Advanced certification level training or associates degree preferred
• 3-5 years of experience supporting machine maintenance/repair in a manufacturing environment
• General skills and expertise related to molding tech / maintenance activities
• Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite
• Great mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems
• Proficient verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Positive teamwork and attitude required to support the manufacturing environment
• Basic knowledge of electrical safety
