Position Title: Network Engineer
Reports to: Director of Technology
FLSA Status: Exempt
Primary FunctionThe Network Engineer plays a key role in the technology department by collaborating with the Technology Specialist and assisting the Director of Technology to meet the goals of the school system. This position works under the supervision of the Director and is expected to perform independently to maintain and enhance vital components of the technology infrastructure.
RequirementsEducational and/or Experience: Two years technical college, or equivalent, in Information Technology with an emphasis on networking or systems administration or equivalent work experience. Five years of experience supporting a large local and wide area network development is preferred.
Certification/Licensing Preferred: Network , Security , CCNA
Proficiency Skills: Demonstrates knowledge and field experience with hardware and software troubleshooting skills, maintains personal and professional technology skills and knowledge base keeping current with industry trends. Demonstrates ability in handling confidential matters in an ethical manner.
Personal Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, applies a friendly customer service focused mindset with all users. Ability to work independently and stay on task, be highly organized, and detail oriented. Maintains a collaborative relationship with the Technology Department
Physical Demands: Tasks can involve regular and sometimes sustained performance of physically demanding work. This typically comprises of balancing, bending, climbing, crawling, crouching, and kneeling. It also can require carrying, lifting, pulling, and pushing of moderately heavy objects and materials (around 50 pounds). Must be comfortable working on ladders around 12 feet tall. Flexible schedule, including the ability to work nights and weekends.
Salary: CCSS Classified Salary Schedule A22, 240 days. Salary: CCSS Classified Salary Schedule A22 (Start step $19.03/hr-Max step $33.22/hr) $36,537.6- $63,782.4 / year steps awarded with verifiable experience , 240 scheduled days
Preferred: Experience in a Network Engineer, System Administrator, or similar position, Experience with Google Admin and Server Management (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, etc.), Experience using CLI to manage Switches and VLANs, Experience configuring and monitoring Firewalls, CCNA, Network , Security .
