Harris Waste Management is Hiring a Quality Manager Near Cordele, GA

GENERAL DESCRIPTION – PURPOSE OF ROLE:
A Quality Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that all Harris products meet the required standards of quality and reliability. This role adheres to the Harris Quality Policy and leads Inspectors to do the same. This role will always advocate for process improvements to improve product quality.

Essential Functions:

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Establishing and implementing quality control procedures and standards for product manufacturing.
  • Overseeing the entire quality assurance process to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits of products, processes, and facilities to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Developing testing protocols and procedures to assess product quality and performance.
  • Maintaining detailed records of quality control activities, test results, and corrective actions taken.
  • Providing training to employees on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices to ensure consistent quality across the organization.
  • Leading efforts to continuously improve quality processes and systems through the implementation of Lean Six Sigma or other quality improvement methodologies.
  • Investigating and resolving quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances in a timely manner. Implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborating with other departments such as production, engineering, and procurement to address quality-related issues and drive improvements throughout the organization.

Qualifications and Experience:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 5 years of experience in quality control or assurance roles, preferably in manufacturing, is required.
  • Experience in progressively responsible roles within quality management, demonstrating increasing levels of leadership and responsibility is preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

The successful candidate should:

  • Understand quality management principles, methodologies, and standards such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management (TQM), and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Be familiar with statistical tools and methods for quality control, including statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), hypothesis testing, and regression analysis.
  • Have a knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and product specifications.
  • Understand risk assessment and management techniques to identify and mitigate quality-related risks.
  • Be able to maintain documented requirements for quality control processes, including record-keeping, documentation of procedures, and reporting of quality metrics.
  • Be able to analyze data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights to make informed decisions and drive improvements.
  • Have strong problem-solving abilities to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Have effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Possess leadership qualities to inspire and motivate teams, provide guidance, and foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Have strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in quality control processes and documentation.
  • Be able to train and develop team members on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Be able to lead and manage teams, delegate tasks effectively, and foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Have the ability to resolve conflicts and address quality-related issues in a diplomatic and effective manner, promoting collaboration and consensus-building.
  • Be dedicated to meeting or exceeding customer expectations for product quality, reliability, and satisfaction.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.

Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. May be exposed to dust, fluctuation in inside temperatures and electro-magnetic radiation as in a computer screen.

The employee will frequently be required to walk through production areas while wearing safety gear, such as eye protection, ear plugs, and foot protection. This environment may include loud noises, flashing lights, and strong odors.
