Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Workforce Retention Specialist provides individualized support and coaching to clients including but not limited to : job searching to ensure post program placement retention, monitor client progress identifying where additional support is needed, and check with supported employee and employer at regular intervals, identify solutions to workplace / job placement concerns and facilitate coaching to assist both parties.
  • The Workforce Retention Specialist will work with academic institutions, local employers, military, and social service agencies to assist students in navigating college or trade school systems and resources successfully leading to fulfillment of contractual objectives.
  • Document activities, progress, and outcomes collected on client and employer activity in an internal and / or state system.

Maintain accurate participant records, perform filing and general clerical functions. Track and report on placement activities.

Organize and run workshops integrated with labor market information, in-demand occupations, and trends in employment for our clients regarding employability and career pathways.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • 2 years relevant work experience in hiring, training, and working with the targeted population.
  • Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd’s Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Must have and maintain an appropriate and valid state driver's license.

Travel up to 40% of the time.

Eckerd Connects provides Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services through contracts with the U.S. Department of Labor and local workforce boards, partnerships, and strategies to provide and create a career pathway for youth, adults, and dislocated workers.

Training services include occupational skills training, customized training, on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, and transitional employment opportunities.

We provide youth with development, academic instruction, career & technical education, and access to the 14 WIOA Youth Elements.

We establish and develop relationships and networks with large and small employers and their intermediaries as well as develop, convene, or implement industry or sector partnerships.
