DescriptionWe are offering an exciting opportunity in the Consumer Products industry located in Burnsville, Minnesota. The role involves working as an Accounts Receivable Clerk, where you will be tasked with managing and analyzing customer short payments on invoices, coordinating research to classify deductions, and working cross-functionally to reconcile and resolve customer deductions.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and analyze customer short payments on invoices following established procedures
  • Coordinate research to classify deductions as valid or invalid according to company procedures and accounting principles
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams to reconcile and resolve customer deductions, escalating when appropriate
  • Support the accounting and reconciliation of various customer trade programs, including volume rebates and other allowances
  • Post credit memos, claims, and deductions in a timely manner, utilizing the correct expense account or accrual account when appropriate
  • Recognize trends and provide valuable analysis and recommendations pertaining to customer deductions
  • Review and deliver invoices to customers according to their requirements
  • Contact customers to follow up on overdue invoices to minimize delinquent accounts; document all collections activities and maintain accurate records of communication with customers
  • Assist with monthly Accounts Receivable reporting activities
  • Define, document, and improve deviations resolution processes for continuous improvement
  • Be accountable for several month-end close responsibilities, following the monthly closing schedule.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an Accounts Receivable role or similar finance role
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Experience in Billing, Cash Applications, Cash Collections, and Commercial Collections
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP systems
  • Knowledge of financial procedures, especially Deductions
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make swift, sound judgments.
