Job DescriptionDesired Skills:

  • Understanding of liquid pumping and transfer systems

Education:
  • Bachelors' degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in Construction Project Management and or Electrical Estimating, or equivalent experience in a related field
Job Responsibilities:
  • Establishing viable project pursuits for engineered or design build projects
  • Meeting with facility owners and or general contractors to develop project scope for design build projects
  • Establishing project proposal and pertinent documents
  • Assuming overall responsibility for a profitable, well-constructed, safe project, completed in a timely manner
  • Determining the most cost effective construction methods and use of personnel, material, equipment and subcontractors
  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor selections and invoicing
  • Establishing field labor needs for managed projects
  • Fulfilling all commitments or revising commitments when circumstances change significantly and previous commitments cannot be met
  • Advising key stakeholders of unavoidable delays
  • Supporting and assuming responsibility for decisions made
  • Taking initiative and doing what it takes to achieve goals
  • Paying close attention to the specifics and details of every aspect of the project or work assignment
  • Noticing variances from the scope of the project and taking appropriate action to resolve discrepancies
  • Checking and editing work or getting peer review to ensure accuracy
  • Clearly conveying important information to all relevant parties in order to ensure the goals and modifications are clearly established and understood
  • Coordinating and providing direction for the budget estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost and construction functions as they relate to the completion of the project
  • Negotiating, preparing, issuing and executing change orders (proposals) and providing that information to field crew, subcontractors and other necessary parties, and preparing revisions to the original budget as a result of changes and revisions to work.
  • Being able to maintain poise and professionalism under stressful or challenging situations
  • Communicating in a succinct, logical, and clear manner
  • Presenting recommendations and supporting conclusions with facts in order to gain the confidence of the listener
  • Initiating, establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors in order to facilitate construction activities, represent the organization in a professional manner and gain repeat business and customer referrals.
  • Organizing, conducting and representing the company at project coordination meetings as needed
  • Promoting teamwork
  • Using an understanding of the audience to address different groups in the most appropriate and effective way.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of technical and professional aspects of the job
  • Making use of applicable technical manuals and other resources
  • Seeking to improve knowledge level and remain current as to technical procedures
  • Applying job knowledge at expected level of competence and maintaining thorough understanding of the project
  • Staying current on technical / professional developments
Physical Demands:
  • Work Environment - Jobsite and office environment
  • While performing the duties of this job a project manager may be regularly required to- drive to and from the jobsite, sit, talk and/or hear both in person and over the phone.
  • While performing the duties of this job a project manager may required to frequently inspect the project and may be exposed to normal hazards associated with construction and various weather conditions.
