A Director of Nursing, or Nursing Director, oversees the nursing staff and overall nursing operations of the healthcare agency. Their duties include evaluating and directing all nursing employees, establishing goals for the nursing department and creating and enforcing compliant healthcare policies.

About the role:

Our Caregivers are out there making a difference in patients lives and you are the captain of that ship. As a Director of Nursing for Elite Home Healthcare Solutions, you will establish, initiate, implement, and evaluate the goals and objectives that align with the high standards of care we expect for our patients. This is a part-time position. The Nurse will need to travel to clients homes or facilities to perform assessments. This can be coordinated with the clients. Currently the role calls for 10-20 hours a week.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Completing Assessments and creating appropriate care plan for all new clients
• Maintaining high standards of care for all patients
• Managing patients’ data and medical records as confidential records
• Communicating with doctors, patients and family members about patient health
• Supervising all Home Health Aides
• Completing Assessments and skills evaluations for all new Caregivers
• Providing ongoing education (in-services)
• Implementing new procedures and training Nurses on policies
• Reporting to higher management

The Director of Nursing will provide guidance to staff and clinical managers relating to all aspects of patient care including assisting with assessments, planning, and evaluation of patients. They will be involved in hiring, onboarding, evaluating, training and mentoring staff including performing performance appraisals and taking disciplinary action when necessary. Interpret operational indicators to detect census changes and the impact on staffing needs. Assists in the development of agency goals and evaluation of agency performance.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent education and experience
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license
• 5 years of management experience
• 3 years of home health, home infusion or related organization
