Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Culinary Director to lead our culinary team and oversee the dining program at our senior living community. The Culinary Director will be responsible for creating innovative menus, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation, managing food costs and budgets, and providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute creative and nutritious menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our senior residents, including special diets such as diabetic-friendly and low sodium.
- Train, mentor, and lead a team of culinary professionals, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, to deliver outstanding culinary services.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety in compliance with health and sanitation regulations.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and cost control measures to meet budgetary goals while ensuring the availability of fresh and high-quality ingredients.
- Collaborate with other departments, including activities and wellness, to coordinate special events, themed dinners, and culinary demonstrations.
- Foster a positive dining experience for residents by soliciting feedback, addressing concerns, and continuously striving for excellence in service.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in culinary management, preferably in a senior living, hospitality, or fine dining setting.
- Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques, nutrition, and menu development.
- Proficient in budget management, inventory control, and cost analysis.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, staff, and families.
- Understanding of dietary restrictions and special dietary needs commonly found in senior populations.
