Jacobs Group General Contractors is Hiring a Project Manager Commercial Construction Near Buckner, KY

Louisville based GC is searching for a Project Manager for healthcare related and commercial construction projects. We are a general contractor seeking a hardworking and dedicated person to become a member of our project team.

The Jacobs Group Inc Project Manager (SPM) position requires a seasoned professional manager of projects capable of balancing multiple competing priorities. Priorities may exist on a single large complex project or across an assignment of many unrelated smaller projects. These priorities include, but are not limited to: managing client expectations, meeting each project’s scope requirements within budgeted time and resources, managing scope for Jacobs Group efficiently while increasing the value of what Jacobs Group delivers to each client, managing a diverse, temporary (project based) workforce, managing time effectively, training staff on each job, modeling proper behavior with clients and in all other work environments, making effective work assignments at the right staff level and finally pursuing additional client work in four areas (scope additions on this project, duplicating of current project’s work on another project, finding new work at this client, finding new work at other clients).

Each Project Manager must be self-motivated, results oriented and must constantly coach in order to maximize current work value. This role requires great flexibility to react to issues outside of the control of the incumbent, while demonstrating an ongoing ability to:

  • Delegate work effectively and efficiently
  • Deal with ambiguity and remain focused on successful project execution
  • Communication clearly and consistently with appropriate documentation
  • Communicate effectively with Clients at all levels, always seeking additional project opportunities
  • Consistently balance contractual obligations with Client satisfying behavior

Identifying new work, proposing successfully, delivering projects that allow us to grow in dollars earned and in staff capability are the core jobs of the Senior Project Manager

The PM role requires

  • Building industry relationships through the pursuit, development and delivery of successful projects
  • Team leadership skills that grow staff capability and deliver results
  • Becoming the ongoing face of Jacobs Group to multiple clients through successful projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction principles/practices required•
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals
  • Project set up, budget planning, buy out, and cost reporting experience is a must
  • Good understanding of critical path scheduling
  • Experience leading successful project teams, including the development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities
  • Energetic and highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency
  • Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the ability to work equally well on my own as well as in a team environment

Minimum requirements

  • 8 years’ industry project management experience
  • Civil/Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering degree
