Brownsville Independent School District is Hiring an Instrument Repair Technician Near Brownsville, TX
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The FollowingInspects instruments, moves mechanical parts, plays scales to determine defects. Unscrews and removes rods, slides, pistons and other parts. Removes old parts; installs new parts; removes reachable dents.
Pins and fills cracks on wood instruments. Solders patches over cracks in brass instruments and solders as needed.
Chemically cleans brass instruments; replaces worn corks and felt. Removes old pads; installs new pads as needed; replaces worn tenon corks. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
Maintains confidentiality. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees.
Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required.
Performs any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Director.
