Bay Mills Health Center is Hiring a Human Resources Office Assistant Near Brimley, MI

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Human Resources Director, the Office Assistant is responsible for providing general support and assistance with several human resources functions including recruitment, orientation, safety, employee benefits, record-keeping and data entry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Greets and assists visitors of the human resources department.
  2. Assists applicants with completing applications.
  3. Reviews open positions and position requirements with all applicants.
  4. Scheduling meetings, interviews, orientations, trainings, etc.
  5. Assist and prepare employee orientations and trainings.
  6. Assist with monitoring uniform inventory and purchasing of additional uniforms to maintain par levels.
  7. Assists with data entry and filing.
  8. Answer phones and directs calls as needed.
  9. Drafting and preparing letters, employment verifications, evaluations, etc.
  10. Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position’s essential functions.
  11. Must attend all mandatory trainings offered through the Human Resources Department and/or Department Director.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit with occasional walking and standing. Frequently the employee must bend, crouch, kneel, push/pull, and be able to reach above shoulder level. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in business management, or related field highly desired.
  2. One to three years of general office experience or clerical work required.
  3. Must have great communication skills and the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with internal and external departments.
  4. Must have excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, etc, and must be willing to take pre-hire proficiency test.
  5. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly personality.
  6. Must have demonstrated the ability to get along with fellow employees and work well within the current staff.
  7. Must have an excellent past work and attendance record, as verified with references from past two supervisors.
  8. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories of this position description.
