GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

The Grants Manager develops and oversees the execution of all grant fundraising. This includes ongoing management of a diversified foundation & government fundraising campaign that involves grant submissions, reporting and prospecting. The grants manager works closely with the Director of Development (DOD), Director of Local Programs, Director of Partner Services, Director of Curriculum and Training, Director of Operations, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The work location is hybrid – in our Boulder and Longmont offices and from home.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

GRANTS

Activities include prospect research, writing, and reporting on government and foundation grants, and maintaining accurate and timely monthly reports of all grant activities to meet annual goals.

  • Ensure continued funding from all current foundations and government funders. This includes:
  • Timely submission of grant proposals and reports, increasing funding, when possible
  • Updating grant proposals for local, CC English (online) and national programs bi-annually
  • Tracking in Salesforce all grants and progress report deadlines and activities.
  • Cultivating relationships through personal and mass mailings, phone calls, emails, and in-person/Zoom meetings, attending and/or arranging for staff and/or board to attend funder meetings, site visits, events, and training sessions.
  • Maintain an organized system for grant writing resources, including proposals and response letters, contracts and reports, research and program data.
  • Research and cultivate new prospective funders in collaboration with DOD and CEO.
  • In collaboration with directors, develop grant proposals, including supporting the articulation of goals, development of budgets, and plans for outcome evaluation for new programs and projects, with a focus on scaling the Intercambio Network, CC English, and other new and existing projects.
  • Monitor progress of program grants and gather information to update funders for specific programs

OTHER

  • During budgeting process, provide foundation forecasting to develop budget revenue goals, report on income projections throughout the year
  • Attend staff meetings and Development team meetings
  • Engage with students and volunteers through Community Conversation, fundraising events

GENERAL STAFF EXPECTATIONS

  • Attends staff meetings and retreats and regular check-ins with manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years of experience managing a grants program, including prospecting, reporting, and cultivating foundation funders.
  • Proficient knowledge of grant processes, including messaging and reporting.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, dependable.
  • Proactive customer service orientation, relationship building skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Multicultural sensitivity.
  • Effective decision maker in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Skill at using Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) or similar cloud-based office applications.
  • Experience using a donor database (ideally Salesforce) to track funder communications.

Starting Pay Range: This is a part-time, salaried position at 25 hours per week, with a starting hourly rate of $32.00 to $34.00 per hour. Intercambio has a formal, market-based compensation structure. Candidates who possess the required qualifications usually start in the middle of the advertised pay range. Intercambio also offers a competitive benefits package for part-time staff that includes life insurance, vacation and sick leave, Simple IRA after 1 year with a company match of 3%, and funds for annual professional development.
