Job Summary:
OurJunior Network Engineer will have 3-4 years of solid experience. A strong workethic is required as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision. Thisrole reports into the Network Services Manager based out of NY.
PrimaryResponsibilities and Duties:
Theduties of the Network Engineer include, but are not limited to:
Strong work ethic required, able to work withminimal supervision and report into the Network Services Manager based out ofNY.
Demonstrate strong communication skills whileinterfacing and coordinating with other departments and staff to accomplishyour tasks.
Troubleshoot/ analyze escalated helpdesk issuesreported by users. Identify any trends and make recommendations on improvingprocess and reducing issues.
Install, support, and maintain networkinfrastructure.
Evaluate design of network and makerecommendations on tuning and improving performance.
Document and maintain network administrationprocedures and policies.
Perform network address assignment, manage DNSand DHCP.
Secures network system by establishing andenforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
Updates job knowledge by participating ineducational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintainingpersonal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Demonstrate knowledge and make recommendationson security standards and practices.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Escalation point for Helpdesk, knowledge ofWindows support
Network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
Voice technology experience with in house PBXand hosted PBX systems.
Experience managing voice and data circuitinstalls.
Storage communication protocols, such as fibrechannel, iSCSI, FCoE
Configuration and maintenance of FortigateFirewalls
Configuration and maintenance of RiverbedTechnology
Configuration and maintenance of HP/ Arubaswitches, switching and routing.
Experience with monitoring tools and setup
BS or MS degree in Computer Science/ Engineeringor related field.
3-5 years minimum of experience networkimplementations, diagramming, code updating and firmware patching, projectplanning, and management of third party vendors.
Excellent verbal, written communication, anddocumentation skills and can provide example documentation.

Althoughspecific certifications are not required, they are a big plus. Including:
Ciscocertifications (CCNA or higher)
CheckpointSecurity certifications
A ,Network , or Security certifications
