Aqueduct is Hiring a Cybersecurity Analyst II Near Boston, MA

Aqueduct Technologies is looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst II in a Hybrid capacity in Boston, MA. Must have exceptional performance conducting internal cyber threat monitoring, discovery, investigation, and reporting. An ideal candidate would have 5 years of career experience conducting cybersecurity, law enforcement, or intelligence analysis related investigations (or a cybersecurity degree or industry standard certification), skills required to detect anomalous behavior in network and endpoint logs such as would be utilized in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or threat intelligence teams, and a desire to join a lean and agile cybersecurity team.

The position will require the candidate to conduct investigations in the management and execution of network observation tools, host-based agent collections, open-source infrastructure and threat research, and python/SQL query processes. A successful candidate will be well versed in cyber threat actor Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), link analysis and correlation tools, Application Programming Interface (API) concepts, host and network analysis principles, open-source collections, counter-intelligence operations, and/or other related areas.


Responsibilities:

  • Leverage a diverse toolset to enable discovery, collections, threat analysis, correlation, and reporting.
  • Conducting ongoing monitoring and analysis to discover inappropriate, suspicious, or unauthorized activity, collecting evidence of the unauthorized activity, and performing investigations to determine severity, scope, and attribution.
  • Participate in security incident investigations that involve computer crimes and require log, forensic, and malware analysis.
  • Collect and analyze intrusion detection system alerts, firewall logs, network traffic logs, and host system logs to evaluate whether unauthorized access or information ex-filtration occurred.
  • Perform forensic analyses to identify the presence of any malware, malware capabilities/actions, and what actions the malware took.
  • Conduct security investigations in Linux, Windows, and MacOS environments
  • Willingness to acquire new technical skillsets, the motivation and confidence to act independently when needed but disciplined enough to contribute as a teammate when required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of career experience conducting cybersecurity, law enforcement, or intelligence analysis related investigations (or a cybersecurity degree or industry standard certification)
  • Experience conducting cyber, law enforcement or intelligence operations.
  • Cybersecurity certifications
  • Ability to investigate and correlate events from disjoined sources of data into a single timeline.

  • Strong desire to work on a team in a collaborative environment to achieve common goals.
  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
