Watauga County Schools is Hiring a General Maintenance Technician Near Boone, NC
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORKTests malfunctioning plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems and equipment.
Installs, maintains, alters, and repairs plumbing, wiring, electrical devices, machinery and equipment, masonry etc.
Measures, cuts, threads, bends, assembles, and installs conduit.
Draws wire through conduit and completes necessary splicing, soldering, and application of friction tape.
Installs and connects equipment to wiring systems.
Replaces damaged or broken water lines, duct, wires and cables.
Works with others to replace faulty electrical components, plumbing equipment and HVAC equipment.
Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesConsiderable knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and materials used in plumbing, HVAC and electrical installation, maintenance and repair work.
Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment necessary to repair work.
Ability to locate and correct defects in plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems and equipment.
Ability to understand and work from blueprints, schematics, sketches or pencil drawings.
Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
Suggested Training And ExperienceConsiderable experience in performing most of the tasks associated with plumbing, electrical and HVAC work.
Special RequirementsThis employee will need to have working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC mechanical systems as well as hold a Class B CDL and a recovery license based on State requirements as directed by the North Carolina Board of Electrical Examiners.
