Position Summary:

CEP is looking for a self-motivated Accountant to join our accounting department. In this role, you’ll play an important role in our company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting and compliance with the law.

Responsibilities:

• Generate invoices and account statements, including turning a proposal into an invoice and generate billing statements from regular to storage invoices.
• Perform account reconciliations, such as missing payments, duplicate billing, misapplied payments, closing and conducting a job reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accounts receivable files and records, including storage records and ACH/Billing records to clients.
• Produce monthly financial and management reports, assists in producing financial statements for review.
• Investigate and resolve any irregularities or inquiries.
• Post customer payments by recording cash, check, and credit card transactions.
• Track revenues by verifying and entering transactions from lockbox and local deposits.
• Track and analyze capital expenditure. Research and explain variances. Report this information monthly or as needed.
• Assist in general financial management and analysis, including misc. reports from Commissions to Sales/Use Tax, etc.
• Report on group actuals vs. budgets/forecasts.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance and a minimum 1 year of direct work experience.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required, including strong Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, complex formulas, advanced charting).
• Demonstrated ability to teach, train, and develop staff both from a technical perspective as well as in professional skills.
• Ability to promote and implement a culture of high achievement and continuous improvement through goal setting and measurement.
• Team player with a positive attitude, good sense of humor, and a desire to learn and grow with the Company.
• Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
