Lucienne Home Care, Inc. is Hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Near Boca Raton, FL

At Lucienne Home Care, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in the Home Health Care Profession. We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who is self-motivated, has previous experience in home health care, well organized, and has excellent communication skills.

DUTIES OF POSITION

Provides skilled occupational therapy service on an intermittent basis to patients in their homes under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist (OT) provides patient care services which have been delegated by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Participates in the preparation of clinical and daily progress notes. All notes are reviewed by the OT and submitted within 72 hours. Also prepares periodic summary reports.
  • Observes, and records activities and findings in the clinical record and reports to the OT and the physician the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient's condition.
  • Together with the OT, instructs the patient and family, assists in teaching them exercise programs.
  • Guides and instructs the patient in prescribed therapeutic self-care and creative activities that are directed toward improving independence and physical and mental functioning and assists the patient in the use of self-help devices.
  • Consults with OT regarding the outcome of home visits and reports physical findings in written form.
  • Instructs patient in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, splints, and prosthetic and orthotic devices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be licensed or registered by the State.
  • Must have current CPR certification.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Per diem

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
