- Contact patients with outstanding medical bills related to DME.
- Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements.
- Maintain accurate records of communication and payment agreements.
- Collaborate with patients to establish manageable payment plans.
- Provide clear explanations of payment options and terms.
- Monitor payment schedules and follow up as needed.
- Empathy and Communication:
- Approach patients with compassion and understanding.
- Listen actively to their concerns and address any questions.
- Be a patient advocate, ensuring their financial well-being.
- Work closely with other collections representatives and billing teams.
- Share insights and best practices to improve overall collection efforts.
- Collaborate on complex cases to find effective solutions.
- Analyze payment challenges and identify creative solutions.
- Handle escalated issues with professionalism and tact.
- Strive for win-win outcomes for both patients and the organization.
- 1-3 years of prior patient collections experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred).
- Prior experience in medical collections or related field.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong empathy and patience when dealing with patients.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Problem-solving mindset and adaptability.
