Slitter Operator - Direct Hire

POSITION – Slitter Operator

JOB LOCATION – Bloomer, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediately

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Direct Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – Night Shift (6pm-6am, 2-2-3 schedule)

STARTING PAY – $20.00 - $25.67/hour (plus night shift pay differential of $2.50/hour) = Up to $28.17/hour

BENEFITS – Extremely competitive

REQUIRED EDUCATION – High School Diploma/GED

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – 1-3 years of plastic extrusion experience preferred

DUTIES:

  • Operate and oversee assigned production lines, ensuring optimal output and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct slitting down of master rolls into smaller sizes and rewinding of questionable materials as necessary.
  • Maintain quality standards to meet expectations and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and effective communication with supervisors and co-workers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of preferred experience in plastic extrusion, demonstrating proficiency in the field.
  • Ability to utilize measuring tools such as tape measure, calipers, etc., ensuring precision in work.
  • Possess a solid technical/mechanical aptitude, facilitating efficient operation of machinery.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, pull, and lift throughout a 12-hour shift (lifting limit: 65lbs).
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Demonstrated focus on safety and commitment to producing high-quality materials.
  • Basic computer knowledge to perform necessary tasks related to the role.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

SAFETY:

  • Prioritize safety and health concerns in all job activities, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Actively engage in safety processes and follow established guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform job-specific housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and orderliness, contributing to overall workplace safety.
  • Promptly identify, report, and rectify any near misses, unsafe conditions, or behaviors to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure production volume and efficiency while upholding quality standards to deliver satisfactory materials to customers.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to enhance safety and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise, seeking supervisor assistance when needed to ensure safe operations.
