We are seeking a talented people-focused engineer to become Engineering Manager on our Mechanical Engineering team! As an Engineering Manager, you'll lead and mentor a talented team of engineers, creating a sense of community through your team’s culture and driving engineering excellence every day. You will work closely with Directors and other engineering managers to shape our company's future and set big-picture goals. General Requirements:

• Must be a senior mechanical engineer or above in good performance standing.
• 7 years engineering experience preferred, exceptions will be considered at the discretion of the Directors of Mechanical Engineering and HR.
• Beverly-based role supporting a team of East Coast Engineers.

Outside of your general duties as an Engineer here, inclusive of any project management tasks, you will be responsible for the following areas as an Engineering Manager:

• Contributing to the vetting and selection with all new employees who will be working as a possible direct report.
• Responsible for annual performance reviews for employees working as a direct report.
• Responsible for monitoring, developing, and facilitating professional development of direct reports along with them.
• Meet with direct reports on a regular basis to provide feedback and discuss things such as employee satisfaction and project progress.
• Lead and schedule team events with other teams at Goddard to maintain morale within your team and connection with others.
• Mentor direct reports and other engineers as needed, both professionally and personally.
• Meet with Goddard’s management team regularly, foster team and company spirit, and review any company updates, policies, and procedures to inform your team accordingly with.
• Manage expectations of team members regarding reviews, promotions, and salary conversations.
• Handle compensation and bonus conversations for your team with the Director of Finance.
• If necessary, work with team members to resolve conflicts among resources and between client and engineering teams.
• Remain apprised of the progress of certain projects your team members are resourced to, paying attention to any developing problems, and participate in minor and major problem resolutions.
• Monitor employee utilization on a weekly basis through the information provided via email by the resourcing manager and/or project manager.
• Approve or reject weekly timesheets of direct reports in accordance with company guidelines.
• Approve or reject vacation or other time off requests in accordance with the company handbook.
