The Safe Center LI is Hiring a Director of Contract Management Near Bethpage, NY

Agency Overview: The Safe Center LI, Inc. (TSCLI) is the leading provider of services to victims and survivors of interpersonal violence in Nassau County. The agency provides comprehensive services to victims and survivors of domestic/intimate partner violence, sexual assault, child abuse and human trafficking. The Safe Center is a thought leader that seeks to develop and implement innovative interventions to meet the multifaceted needs of victims and survivors.
Summary: The Director of Contract Management is responsible for all aspects of the government grant contract portfolio (supported by federal, state, local and private funding sources) including but not limited to tracking contracts, preparing budgets and other contract related documents, ensuring that grant vouchers are submitted correctly and timely, preparing closeout reports when required and coordinating and/or preparing for site visits and desk audits. Supervise two staff members; reports to Comptroller.
This is a succession position that will involve transitioning with the current director who will retire in 2024.
JOBS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure that renewal contracts are received and monitor until executed
  • Prepare budgets and other contract related documents for submission to funding agencies
  • Track year to date spending of all grants and prepare budget modifications if deemed necessary
  • Maintain agency Grants Schedule ensuring that it is current and accurate, and includes amounts and dates vouchers submitted and paid
  • Prepare and maintain annual salary spreadsheet for agency and departments
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll and monthly fringe benefits spreadsheets for vouchering
  • Supervise two fiscal assistants who prepare most of the monthly and/or quarterly vouchers, review for accuracy and in some cases submit to funding agencies. Prepare certain grant vouchers
  • Maintain and administer federal, state and county websites needed for grant compliance and submitting of grant vouchers
  • Prepare Functional Expense Allocation for agency annual audit
  • Participates in monthly Leadership meetings
  • Other duties, projects and reports as required by the Comptroller or Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration
  • Accounting experience in preparing budgets and reconciliations
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, especially excel
  • Excellent organization, written and oral communication, math and time management skills
  • Technical fluency with the use of a computer, fax machine and copier
HOURS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
  • Full-time, exempt (35 hours/week)
  • Monday through Friday 9AM-5PM
  • Includes medical, dental, vision benefits and a generous paid time off package
  • Access to National EAP services
  • Annual salary: $75,000-$80,000
