Job Description
Job Purpose
| Health Unit Coordinators work to provide compassionate and competent care so that we have the opportunity to feel the joy of impacting the lives of our patients, their families, and our co-workers. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
| Duty | Percent of Time |
| Manage phones, call lights, parent meals, patient schedules, keep information at nurses’ station up to date, coordinates/send out communication throughout unit, submitting tickets, coordinate bathing schedules, facilitate moves throughout hospital including room setup at admission and discharge. | 75% |
| Assist with patient activity at nurses’ station | 10% |
| Contribute to maintain a tidy work environment; cleans nurses’ station and work space, maintains stock of supplies and forms | 10% |
| Assist with direct patient care as needed | 5% |
Minimum Qualifications
| Education: | High School Graduate or GED. Ability to speak, understand, read and write English required |
| Experience: | 1 year secretarial/office experience preferred. Computer skill proficiency. |

Bethany Children’s Health Center is an innovative leader in the field of pediatric rehabilitation and 24-hour complex care. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services for children (ages 0-21) and is the only inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility in Oklahoma. Our CARF accredited multidisciplinary team works with patients and their families to maximize the patient’s physical and cognitive potential, and ensure the family has the training and resources needed for a smooth transition from hospital to home. In 2021, the hospital received accreditation from The Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), the nation’s original independent accreditation program recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This distinction confirms that Bethany Children’s Health Center is providing high quality patient care as determined by an external process of evaluation.
