Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a Reliability Technician on the Physics of Failure team to conduct internal testing that will be critical to making our products more robust and reliable. As part of the Reliability team, you will support failure analysis efforts including battery module tear-downs and failure data collection.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to make a significant and daily impact on a cutting-edge battery technology that will revolutionize the electric grid and bring major improvements to grid reliability and sustainability.

This role will require hands-on work in the lab and ability to collaborate with a cross functional team to ensure high quality testing and results.

What you'll do:

• Work hands-on (manual drill, hand-held power tools, 3D printers, etc.) to conduct cell tear-downs critical to failure analysis.

• Document findings and communicate results to engineering teams.

• Coordinate modules and cells for tear-down, establishing a system for staging.

• Maintain and organize the lab space, and be a champion of safety.

What you'll bring:

• 3 years experience as a technician or in a hands on role

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs

• Comfort using sensor and data acquisition systems (e.g. multimeter, thermocouple logger)

• Experience working with batteries or battery electrodes is highly desirable, but not required

• Comfortable working with chemicals and wearing PPE

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Comfort using G-suite tools (Gmail, Google Docs, etc.)

• A positive get-it-done attitude!
