Position Overview:

The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment used in our lumber processing facility. Have a strong background in industrial electrical work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in the sawmill facility, including motors, PLCs, conveyors, and other machinery.

• Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform repairs to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation of equipment.

• Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to prevent breakdowns and prolong equipment lifespan.

• Complete all work orders as required and promptly.

• Familiarity of PLC's, ability to recognize and adjust sensors, photoelectric eyes, proximity switches, and limit switches.

• Work safely, constantly monitoring the hazardous conditions and risks present in the immediate areas.

• Understand and follow all formal safety procedures including Lockout Tagout safety procedures.

• Ability to troubleshoot from 24v dc up through 480v 3ph.

• Ability to troubleshoot motor starter circuits as well as e-stop circuits.

• Sound understanding of VFD drives and their functionality and the ability to program and commission VFD drives.

• Train and mentor less experienced electricians, providing guidance on best practices, safety procedures, and technical skills development.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years as an industrial electrician, preferably in a manufacturing or sawmill environment.

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including PLCs, motor controls, and industrial wiring methods.

• Ability to pay attention to detail, multitask, and work in a team environment.

• Ability to move and maneuver lumber weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to be in a stationary position for an extended period.
