Description

ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST/ALCOHOL & DRUG ABUSE (Beaufort): The Administrative Specialist performs various administrative support duties in an assigned program, division, or department using technical knowledge of work areas. Responsibilities may include: coordinating staffing needs; reviewing, verifying, and processing applications, certifications, licenses, permits and other documents; preparing and providing specific department information to client and the public; maintaining databases and department websites; preparing and modifying routine and non-routine reports, newsletters and correspondence; monitoring deposits and payments; maintaining office supply and inventory; preparing meeting agenda and taking minutes; and coordinating events; planning and coordinating the work of assigned support staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years of clerical, secretarial, or related work experience or an equivalent

combination of education and experience.

  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Programs)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Good organization and time management skills, as well as the ability to communicate

effectively as a team member

All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
