- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting.
- Fill holes with putty, plaster or other fillings.
- Mix pigments, paint bases or other ingredients to obtain proper shade of color.
- Apply paint with roller, brush or spray gun.
- Assist in routine maintenance duties and repairs to the facility as required or assigned by the Director.
- Perform unscheduled maintenance and painting as required.
- Assist other department members in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc.
- Previous painting and dry wall experience required.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to function independently, and be flexible, possess personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with members, visitors, and staff personnel.
- Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays as assigned.
- May be required to work in cramped spaces and in adverse weather condition.
- Must be reliable and possess great attention to detail.
Language Skills: Must be able to fluently speak and read English to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; to write routine reports and correspondence; to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds and work in various outside climates.
Certificates/Licenses: A valid Florida Driver’s License is required as well as a satisfactory driving history to meet insurance requirements.
