Baldwin Area Medical Center is Hiring a Manager - Revenue Cycle Near Baldwin, WI

Western Wisconsin Health is seeking a full-time Revenue Cycle Manager. The Manager is responsible for providing leadership for the organization’s centralized business office which includes data entry, billing, charge master, prior authorization, and collection functions. All of this is done to support the organization’s mission while living our values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direction for the Business Office which includes the following revenue cycle and business support service functions: data entry, billing, claims follow-up, prior authorization, charge master, and credit & collection functions;
  • Manages revenue cycle process, which includes all administrative and clinical functions that contribute to the capture, management, and collection of patient service revenue using hands-on problem-solving techniques and leadership skills;
  • Participates in the process for third-party payer contract reviews for content and reimbursement impacts, including final written recommendations regarding negotiation points;
  • Manages the required internal process and partners with operational departments to ensure accountability, responsibility and ownership for ongoing charge master review and compliance with changing regulatory and payer requirements;
  • Plans, coordinates, and prepares required quarterly and year-end work papers in support of mandated Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer cost-reporting processes, annual financial audit or potential third party audits;
  • Manages the required internal processes for compliance with the Federal “No Surprises Act” and Hospital Price Transparency guidelines and federal collection practices under the 501 (r) rule;
  • Manages department budget which includes maintaining working relationships and evaluates contracted services for contracted services;
  • Coordinates and manages strategies to ensure patient satisfaction around patient concerns on revenue cycle process, account standings;
  • Makes hiring decisions, conducts performance evaluations, and creates and delivers corrective action plans in alignment with the Just Culture model with Human Resources;
  • Implements department strategic plan that is consistent with and supports the organization’s strategic plan;
  • Administers policies and procedures consistent with the goals and objects of the organization;
  • Participates in the organization’s Compliance committee;
  • Demonstrates awareness, understanding and respect of cultural diversity and patients of all ages and socioeconomic groups; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree
  • 3 years revenue cycle experience in a hospital or provider practice

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Certification or training in Epic resolute ambulatory and hospital billing and A/R management
  • 1 years leadership experience
  • 1 years’ experience managing a Wisconsin CAH revenue cycle department or function
  • 1 years’ experience managing a RHC revenue cycle department or function
  • Direct experience with process and quality improvement tools such as Six Sigma DMAIC and Lean
  • Project management experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of hospital-based provider billing
  • Maintain the integrity of highly confidential business and patient information
  • Display and promote high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational standards
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic medical records
  • Clearly and effectively convey information to patients
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently
  • Ability to consistently carry out job responsibilities, able to acknowledge when commitments are not met, and take appropriate steps to fulfill responsibility
  • Ability to clearly and effectively convey information to individuals or groups, including ability to choose the appropriate method or methods of communication
  • Ability to analyze, identify, and solve problems while using sound judgment
  • Exhibit an independent drive and demonstrated ability to lead change
