Job Summary:

Quality Assurance Audits of BL/Revenue Departments ensuring accuracy, providing training, maintaining process standards, and providing reports to show trends and QA issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Perform monthly audits on required percentage of Revenue Batches, Business License Batches, Specials Batches and DRE Batches processed by employees.
• Perform monthly audits on required percentage of taxpayer new account set-ups.
• Perform monthly audits on the required percentage of Compliance accounts.
• Perform audits on tax forms and rate sheets as required.
• Perform monthly audits on required percentage of jurisdiction tax increases, decreases, added new services and contract renewals.
• Prepare nonconformance reports for all major issues discovered during the audit process.
• Review applicable procedures and policies; recommend changes and enhancements of procedures to Director of Operations, Revenue Department Manager, Business License Department Manager and Client Relations Manager.
• Responsible for identifying and communicating compliance trends verbally and in writing.
• Prepare for and assist with the annual SOC audit.
• Provide Leadership with daily/weekly/monthly reports of audits.
• Perform other projects or special assignments, as required.

Education and Experience:

• Two years’ experience or related experience and/or training reviewing/researching data entry compliance.
• Requested but not required, familiar with Alabama Taxpayer Bill of Rights and Alabama Business Tax Requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Medium to Expert level Excel skills
• Microsoft Office experience
• Proficient with creating reports using graphs and calculating ratios/percentages, increase/decrease reporting.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual workstation, using telephone and computer

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine
• This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
• The person in this position frequently communicates via telephone
