Corporate Temps is seeking an Accounting in BIRMINGHAM, AL PAYING $25/HR FULL TIME M-F 8AM-45PM . Below is the required experience and job duties/responsibilities for this position. Required Experience: Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities
The purpose of the position is for award set up, maintenance, invoicing, reporting, cash management, and effort reporting of federal, state, and local grants awarded to the University. The Restricted Fund Accountant will be responsible for conducting review of grant activities to ensure the University is in compliance with Federal, State of Georgia, Board of Regents and Valdosta State University regulations/policies by remaining current on updates. This position works in conjunction with the Office of Sponsored Programs Research and Administration (OSPRA) and provides support to Principal Investigators (PI). The position provides support for general ledger reconciliations and review. This position is also responsible for all aspect of accounting for the university’s endowment investment. This position requires time beyond the normal operating hours of the university during peak times and especially at fiscal year-end. Other duties as assigned.
Typical Allocation of Duties:
Prepare grant reports and invoices - 25%
Prepare grant reports and invoices as required by sponsoring agency; reconcile grant receivables and indirect revenue.
Review expenditures, deposit funds, and enter budget amendments - 35%
Review grant expenditures for compliance; deposit funds received; enter budget amendments when needed.
Review and approve financial data - 15%
Review and approve financial data in grant proposals and contracts; meet with new principal investigators (PIs) for orientation; set up grant accounts and cost share accounts in PeopleSoft.
Compliance - 15%
Ensure work is performed in compliance with relevant policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Endowments and General Ledger Reconciliation and Review - 10%
Reconciliation and review of the University’s endowments and various general ledger accounts.
