Description:
• The Design Engineer performs, oversees, and directs the product design, detailing and specifications along with the product testing. • The Design Engineer will work with the Process Engineer on product design.• The Design Engineer will assist the Production Management team for the product development stages and assist the Process Engineer for the product manufacturing process integration.• The Design Engineer will support the sales and customer service team in the pre-sale and post-sale processes.• Perform, manage, and assist in new product calculation, design, tooling, and detailing.• Oversee and assist in new product prototyping and testing.• Drives new product tooling capitalization process with Production Manager.• Review accuracy of product designs and drawings performed by CAD drafting team.• Assist the product management team in the product development process.• Assist the process engineering team in the product manufacturing process.• Assist with the revision-controlled document workflow (PDM) for the specific product line.• Provide technical support for engineering request – specials, shop drawings, certifications, quality control documents & propose specifications.• Provide technical support to the sales and customer service team for the specific product line.• Attend jobsites visits and customer meetings as needed to support sales in a technical role.• Set goals and expectations, communicate weekly with key internal customers related to project status / backlog.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical design.• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with 3D software (Solidworks knowledge is an asset).• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing processes.• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project management is an asset.• Experience in Solid works software.• Experience in finite element analysis software tools is an asset.
