The SolidWorks Drafter is responsible for, but not limited to:
Key job responsibilities and skills:
· Generate solid models, assemblies, drawings and bill of materials using SolidWorks derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, sketches, etc.
· Utilize established techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings.
· Review and verify dimensioning and tolerancing of existing drawings and correction of same to ASME standards.
· Evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability, collaborate with engineering on corrections, and edit/correct as needed to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing.
· Collaborate across the engineering teams to establish effective manufacturing and drafting standards for various levels of manufactured parts (e.g. Government custom parts, prototype parts, Trident product parts, etc.).
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasking, often across multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
· Minimum five years of experience in technical drafting
· Minimum five years of experience using SolidWorks
· Minimum five years of experience with ASME drafting standards
· Be a Naturalized US Citizen
