W.S.H.A. Ambulance Service is Hiring an Ambulance Dispatcher Near Atlanta, GA
Western Star Hospital Authority Inc is an innovative company. We specialize in emergency and non-emergency transports for nursing homes, hospital medical facilities and our Military Veterans.
Dispatchers needed for ambulance service must have at least 2 year of experience in dispatching.
EMTs may apply as well. Duties include scheduling transports and dispatching ambulance calls over a 2-way radio system. Must be able to type at least 40 wpm you will be tested on typing skills. Must be able to schedule appointments and make team decisions on getting vehicles from one location to another without delay. Must have good communication skills.
Shifts available are first, second and third shift. If you are attempting to work on first shift you must have at least 3 years of experience working in a high traffic area. There are eight and ten hour shifts.

Responsibilities:
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PDF software
- Operates a multi-line telephone console system, alerting system, and various radio communications systems
- Determines and assign the level of priority of the call and enters the data into a computer-aided dispatch system for radio dispatch purposes
- Performs emergency medical dispatch
- Asks vital questions and provides pre-arrival instructions for emergency medical calls
- Receives and responds to a variety of emergency and non-emergency services and complaints in an expedient, professional and caring manner
- Asks questions to interpret, analyze and anticipate the caller's situation as to resolve problems, provide information, dispatch services, or refer callers to other agencies
- Works closely with field supervisors to dispatch and coordinate responses
- Identifies appropriate number and type of equipment or apparatus to dispatch
- Answers and carries out all related telephone and radio requests
- Maintains ongoing communication with area hospitals, EMS agencies and communication centers for availability of services and resources
- Prepares appropriate records of communication center and dispatch activities
- Provides related clerical functions and additional functions as needed
