Betts Environmental is Hiring a Project Estimator Near Atlanta, GA

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our team. As a Project Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of drilling projects and providing timely and competitive bids. Bids will be from the environmental remediation, mining exploration, geotechnical drilling, and geo-construction fields. Some experience is preferred in these fields for this position. Your expertise in cost control and construction estimating will be essential in ensuring the success of our projects.

Duties:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand project scope and objectives
- Research and gather data on materials, labor rates, and market conditions to ensure accurate pricing
- Utilize software such as Quickbooks and Google Sheets to create detailed estimates
- Occasionally job cost projects throughout the project life to identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities
- Provide support to project teams by answering questions related to estimates, scope of work, and bidding process

Experience:
- Experience in one or more of the following fields: environmental drilling/remediation, mining, geotechnical engineering/drilling, environmental consulting, or geo-construction
- Proven experience in project estimating/management or related job role
- Strong knowledge of drilling/related industries practices, processes, and materials
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or Quickbooks
- Excellent attention to detail
- Negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret scopes of works, drawings, and specifications
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices
