Hillpointe Corporate Management is Hiring a Construction Project Coordinator Near Athens, GA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Hillpointe is a fully integrated real estate development and investment management firm that has grown to become the 5th largest multifamily developer in the United States. Are you ready for the next level of advancement in your career? In that case, we seek a project coordinator position to support our construction projects, compliance, and SCM teams.

Project Management

  • Assist in processing all plans, permits, and other required submittals, including legal filings with the appropriate jurisdiction, track progress, and follow through to obtain approvals as directed.
  • Complete pre-construction logistics plans, including pre-construction site development progress and documentation of critical issues with photos and videos via Safety Culture.
  • Manage pre-construction logistics and site setup (e.g., fencing and security, site logistics plan, vendor services, safety boards, compliance posters, etc.).
  • Assist site management with field documentation, including distribution of project documentation among construction team management, key vendors, design partners, and property management
  • Assist in identifying and controlling potential site security and safety issues.
  • Participate in pre-construction kickoff meetings with AHJ as directed.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals.
  • Coordinate with construction managers to maintain minimum/maximum inventory of bulk materials and arrange for the disposition and movement of excess materials
  • Direct and control project close-out procedures, including archiving hard copy files, close-out/turnover documents, compliance with close-out checklists, coordination of lien searches, and receipt of the certificate of occupancy.
  • Assist in the management of OSHA compliance initiatives.
  • Complete research and special tasks as assigned.
  • Prepare project update reports as directed.

Quality Control

  • Ensure construction sites maintain deliveries and inventory records, including daily scanning and submission of shipping documentation (Bills of Lading, invoices, and manifests).
  • Report on supply chain problems, constructability issues, design deficiencies, code violations, etc. – engage the director of projects and compliance as needed.
  • Identify best practices and efficiencies, take ownership of project dependencies, and resolve risk issues.
  • Monitor site security & public safety, BMP activity, housekeeping, and PPE.
  • Develop field audit protocols to validate security & vendor performance (e.g., site security, timely fuel delivery, cleanliness of portable toilets, night audits of security personnel, etc.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive records regarding quality control issues or construction progress problems.
  • Identify best practices and efficiencies, take ownership of project dependencies, and resolve risk issues.
  • Assist in training construction personnel with pre-inspection walk-throughs, site inspections, and the use of technology (e.g., Shartsheet, Safety Culture, etc.).
  • Ensure required inspections are tracked, and inspection results are archived.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No supervisory duties are assigned

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or construction management is preferred.
  • Minimum of (1) year relevant experience. Experience in wood-framed, multifamily construction is strongly preferred.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish candidates are preferred
  • Ability to read through and comprehend project plans and documentation, including local ordinances and building codes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality
  • Knowledge of job site safety practices required
  • Basic knowledge of land development and the construction industry.
  • Excellent written, communication, and organizational skills to meet strict timelines.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective under time-sensitive circumstances.
  • Strong time management, leadership, project, decision-making, and multitasking skills.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel are required.
